The POGO Card concept was founded by Tim Gemar in 1993 as a 'FREE give-a-way discount card' for his insurance & investment clients.  The card caught on so well that people started asking if they could buy the card and that is when it turned into a business.  Tim had two different names for the card prior to coming up the the POGO Card name in 1998.  POGO is an acronym for 'Purchase One Get One'.  In the beginning, most of the offers on the card were 'POGO' offers but in today's environment, it is hard for most businesses to give this type of offer on a continuous basis.  The POGO Card sells for $20 and is well worth the investment for the value you receive in return.


Today the POGO Card is sold primarily through groups needing to fund raise but there are also a few retail outlets set up because not everyone is approached by a fund raising group.  Tim would like to thank all of the vendors on the card(s) for participating and the groups that use the card as one of their fund raising vehicles!
